Father Carlos Miguel Buela, IVE, was ordained to the priesthood on October 7, 1971. From the beginning of his ministry, he dedicated himself with great enthusiasm to serving the youth, believing that the Church’s concern for young people is “not for tactic but for vocation.”
He founded the Institute of the Incarnate Word and the Servants of the Lord and the Virgin of Matara, the female branch of the religious family of the Incarnate Word. Both institutions have active and contemplative branches. In its twenty-seven years of foundation both Institutes combined have more than 1500 missionaries throughout 41 countries. The specific charism of the Institute is the extension of the Incarnation of the Word in all manifestations of man and its specific purpose is the evangelization of the culture.
As part of his priestly apostolate, Fr. Buela is also a spiritual author. Among his books are Youth in the Third Millennium, a book that was awarded at the International Book Fair as “the best book on Religion and Spirituality.” He is also the author of the Catechism for Youth, Modernos Ataques contra la Familia, Maria de Luján, El misterio de la Mujer que Espera, Fatima, and The Sun Danced; "Priest Forever", "Bread of Eternal Life", "The Chalice of Eternal Salvation", and numerous other articles in various journals. He is also a tireless preacher and a great promoter of the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius of Loyola.
