Our minor seminary was begun in recognition of the importance of giving a sound Catholic intellectual and moral formation to young men called to the priesthood, while simultaneously fostering their Divine vocation. Life at the seminary is rich in the formation of the individual, as well as the development of deep roots in the beautiful communal aspects of the religious life: prayer, self-denial, fraternal charity, as well as social interaction and fun!
In addition to religious formation, the academic curriculum prepares the student both for life as a priest and as an educated Catholic man. He studies Religion, Latin, English Grammar, Literature, History, Mathematics, Science, Art, Music Appreciation, and Orchestra.
The Saint Jose Sanchez Del Rio Minor Seminary program embraces the classical liberal arts curriculum of the Mother of Divine Grace Home School: a Catholic independent study program founded in 1995 to provide parents with the information, resources, and support necessary to educate their children according to the classical tradition. Mother of Divine Grace School is an accredited private school whose transcripts are recognized and accepted by four-year colleges across the country.
